Cabinet Door Pull
Cabinet Door Pull
What is considered "normal" behavior for potential buyers during a demonstration?
For example, people have resorted my belongings in the closet medicince, moved my grandmother's antique dresser and mirror was damaged in the process, pulled apart my kitchen table and put it back together, and left all the lights on in the house after the screening. The most disgusting occurrence happened yesterday though. Someone used my bathroom (which was spotless when I left) and was kind enough to leave an unpleasant place "test" from behind. I always thought it was appropriate to open closet doors and cabinets to check the space, but must leave the house as you found it. Any words of advice other than installing a hidden camera to see what else actually happens in a sample?
I might insist that your agent to be there during the showing, if possible. Might also be called your agent of the other agents who showed him to his house and talk to them about the state of affairs when the left - the ability to go so far as to request that we not show the home again (at least not without his agent present). Your agent may have some other ideas on how to stop the horrible behavior. If all else fails, you may have to insist that people only show the home when you are there. This may deter many people, but it may be worthwhile to keep your home and your belongings intact. We had agents leave all the lights / appliances running when they left the house. (Very annoying - I was still paying the electricity bill!) The worst thing that happened was that we someone had closed the bedroom door in the box of our cats' litter. No one was supposed to even be in the house (which already had a contract him) - and we were out of town for four days! Fortunately, relieved themselves on the linoleum for the weekend but had to use the carpet that had had to be replaced by the buyer. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to touch their personal belongings, however, and a good agent will not give instructions to his client to do so. A hidden camera can not be a bad idea, especially if you are the start to fear things could go missing. Good luck selling your home. It is an experience very frustrating, I'd be too angry if people were abusing my house and things like that.
