Cabinet Pulls Dark
Cabinet Pulls Dark
Is it okay to use different sizes of cabinet pulls since the cabinets and drawers are all different sizes?
I have upper cabinets that are 41" and I wanted to use a 10" pull. I plan to use the same style pull on the drawers but would need to use a 6" as the drawers are only 14.5" wide. I also planned to use 8" pulls on the lower cabinets because the are only 23". Will this look funny or since the pulls match will it be okay? I have a contemporary style kitchen with dark cherry shaker doors.
It's fine and completely normal. For instance, bar pulls- the nice, clean line, stainless ones you see in a lot of more modern kitchens. No one uses the same size on everything. That's why the make different sizes. Part of it depends on the style of cabinet, part on the style of hardware. I personally used 2 sizes of pulls on my drawers and knobs on my doors. I have a bank of drawers that's really wide (30" compared to most of the drawers being about 15" wide) and the smaller pulls would have looked way out of proportion on those drawers. And if you're doint bar pulls (which is just my guess since most hardware doesn't have the range of sizes you're talking about) you're supposed to make them take up most of the length of whichever door/drawer they're mounted on. Or at least be proportional. That said, I know they're not cheap, but your upper doors would be more even with your lowers if you did a 14-15" pull. Just a math thing, it may not bother you.
