Sheet Metal Design Manufacturing with Solid Works
Solid Works software has been specifically designed to help engineers with the design of sheet metal parts that can be easily manufactured. Primarily used to close the gap between those who design the parts and those who manufacture them, sheet metal design manufacturing with Solid Works helps keep costs to a minimum, while increasing production times. Solid Works' user-friendly interface enables designers and engineers to produce 3d models that are then used by fabricators to bring the engineer's vision to life.
Something the Solid Works computer program makes it possible for engineers and manufacturers to do is determine, for purpose of their product, what exactly they mean by sheet metal. This includes factors like how thick the sheet metal is. This allows engineers to design sheet metal components in the flat state, and determine whether the material is strong enough withstand the pressures placed upon it by the design. What's more, parts can be named and labeled in order to avoid confusion about which parts to fabricate. This will also help in assembly as all sheet metal panels will be accurately labeled with information such as where they fit into the overall design.
Solid Works design software further allows engineers to design of layered or multiple extrusions, add form radius and other features after the panels have been assembled in the computer model. This will help both the designer and fabricator to align perforations, tabs, and other characteristics that need to line up on several complex panels of sheet metal.
The Solid Works CAD software allows the design and manufacture of very complex features. The designer can test tolerances and clearances during the design phase to ensure a problem free assembly of the product. The software enables to designers to view the design with small spaces between the panels that make it possible to unfold the design. This allows design features to stand out, so that panels will be seen distinctly. This feature will be particularly useful when panels that will be touching in the actual product but need to be viewed separately by the fabricator in order to construct them correctly.
One of the most useful features of the Solid Works metal design package is that it allows designers and engineers to change the design when needed. It can also help designers to take into account that design changes may have an effect on the rest of the design. The obvious benefit to this is that any design flaws will be caught before the start of the manufacturing process, possibly saving you a great deal of wasted time and money.
Engineers find themselves better able to move a product from conception and modeling through to a workable design when using Solid works design software for sheet metal manufacturing. When the designer's plan is clearly laid out and easy to understand, fabricators are able to manufacture sheet metal panels that will perform exactly as the designer intended, resulting in efficiency in the product's manufacture and production. Efficient production results in shorter production times, less material being wasted, lower costs, and more profits.

Hollister Woods Cove Sweater?
I was going to buy a sweater from Hollister - the Harbor Beach - which comes either in solid white or solid gray. The problem is that they are all sold out. Occasionally they put more on their website but they get sold out immediately.
I was looking at other sweaters that they have on clearance and saw that they have Woods Cove which is IDENTICAL to the Harbor Beach in style and material, it just comes in a striped gray and white instead of solid. The Woods Cove sweater, however, has been there for days and it isn't selling at all.
Anyone know why? Is there something wrong with it? Because the sweaters are identical except for the color... I don't get it. I am reluctant to buy the Woods Cove because it's just not selling well at all even though it's on clearance.
