You can expect to pay more money for one of these refrigerators because they are said to be stylish and allow for much better design appeal in the kitchen. Which is more important -- usable space in the fridge or how something appears?  Yeah, it may be true that consumers in today’s society tend to lean towards trends, however if the trend negatively affects the quality and functionality of something that all of us uses on a daily basis should we still go with the trend?
I say it depends on whether you have a family.  Does that make feeling?  Well, here’s why.  A single person or even a couple without children would probably do well with a small refrigerator, however those of us who have children need that extra space.  The crisper drawers in the counter depth refrigerators are pretty much useless. You might be able to fit 1 head of lettuce in it.  The shelves won’t hold as much, and even the door will hold less.  Oh, as well as let’s not even discuss the deep freeze.  
To each his own.  However, prior to you making a investment in a counter-top depth refrigerator, please completely check them out.  Look to see if they provides you with the space that you are going to need.  For those consumers who do not conserve a grocery store in their own home (such as many of us with children do) they it may work well for you.  But, for those of us that spend $200 per week on groceries, where are we going to invest of it? One thing is for sure, before purchasing a counter depth refrigerator make sure that you do your homework.  It is a large investment, and I would hate to see you spend which type of money on something that you are only going to hate in the long run.  Even worse, don’t spend that type of money on something that you will find out, sooner or later, is simply too small.
