Is there a paint or stain you can use on brass?

Or house has brass everywhere, on the light fixtures, fans, drawer-pulls, faucets etc. I hate it but my husband says it is expensive and somebody paid for all of it. Is there any treatment to make it look like Oil Rubbed Bronze or a darker or more up to date color?

DO you like the shabby shic look paint it white and sand some of it off or you can paint white andthen add another metallic paint watered down to look antiqued. Like the fan take the arms off and paint white and paintthe boards a different color or clean them up Having white accent gives a house a fresh look. Or cream it up
