Welding Pipe Stainless Steel Pipe
The normal processes of welding TIG, MIG, and stick are all able to pipe carbon pipe weld stainless steel. Carbon Standard Class E as MIG welding electrodes E70 and 7018 to retain the tube from sticking together, but welding compromised by the lack of chromium and nickel in alloy.
Therefore, a steel electrode high-carbon stainless should be used to seal welded. Electrodes Welding 309 provide the exact composition of solder to ensure good penetration and structural integrity.
Cut the tip of welding wire protruding from the tip of the welder MIG wire cutters. Back spool of welding wire to remove the MIG torch and lead. Remove coil wire. Spool MIG welder with the welding wire 309.
Change gas mixture shielding gas part three. Before placing third gas protection, was the gas bottle on the side of the tank and roll in both directions for two minutes for the gas mixture. Connect the gas cylinder into three parts.
Turn the MIG welder and adjust the heat and wire speed. Because of the greater amount of heat required to weld stainless steel, standard carbon steel heat settings is not enough. Check your solder for determining a first test set for their heat and speed cable. Test to pass through the machine to ensure that settings are correct.
Cut two pieces of stainless steel tube and two pieces of carbon steel pipe 4 inches long to use as test pieces. Mark the tube with a permanent marker and the jacket of the pipe. Cut the pipe with the bandsaw. When cutting stainless steel, reduce speed and use cutting fluid to maintain a cool band saw blade.
Place the wheel hard to the grinding mill. Place a wedge of 20 degrees at the end of the cut pieces test tube with the mill. Hold the grinder at a constant 20 degrees to provide a line of filling even. Be careful to grind the pipe. Heat increasing rapidly, especially in stainless steel pipes. The tube is heated sufficiently to burn in seconds.
Place one end beveled of steel pipe against an end beveled stainless steel tubes. Keep at 1/16th weld between two pieces of pipe. Place a nail in the weld hold the hose together. Wrap the hose and place a tactic every inch around the entire circumference of the pipe. Ensure that you keep each solder pad gap 1/16th of an inch.
Welding the pipe together. begin welding stainless steel tube and pull the pool in the carbon steel pipe. Take your gun MIG to move in a circle the pond, down 1/8th inch on each down stroke to create a good "roll of dimes" weld. Look at the bottom of the weld to ensure adequate penetration. If you find that the carbon tube is cut, reduce the heat in your MIG and try again. By reducing the amount of heat is unable to reduce the undercutting, the pace of your circle to take the heat steel pipe.
