Want a Chiminea for your garden and confused about which type to get?

Chimineas are freestanding fire places that originated in Mexico, and they are now common garden features that can be found around the UK in many homes . There are lots of types of Chimeneas and each having their benefits and different types may be preffered by different people. However, whatever your desired Chiminea , a Chiminea is certainly something of great use , productive and decorative, that we should all have in our garden . Chimineas used to be built of only clay, however now they are being made out of reinforced clay, cast iron and metal.

Cast iron chimineas come in many different styles and some are made with an additional grill which can be used for flame grilling. Over time these chimineas will rust , however the rusting will not affect the performance of your chiminea. These Chimineas aren’t very portable, as they are made only of heavy metal so as you can imagine, it would be a difficult task to regularly move them around. You can also sand, spray and even paint the rusty parts of your cast iron Chiminea, so even if it does rust, nobody will notice. In comparison to other Chiminea types , these are the best value for money.

Another type is the well known Clay Chiminea. Clay is the original material that Chimineas were made from. This type of chiminea comes in a vast variety of different colours and styles and is certainly the most attractive and most earthly looking of all. However, they must be looked after as they are weaker than the other Chimineas. It is recommended to strengthen clay chimineas by sequentially increasing the heat, creating a bigger flame each time and not letting fire burn for too long. Another advantage is that these Chimineas are light so can be moved easily to suit your needs. This is convenient as you can prevent rusting by moving it in and out of shelter when it's needed . However, always rememberto lift it up from the bottom, as it could break if it is lifted from its less durable section , the chimney section. These Chimineas crack easily and become weaker , they are the least practical; however they definitely stand out the best and offer a larger choice of styles than the other Chimineas do.

Metal Chimineas are made of either steel or aluminium and weigh less than cast iron Chimineas , however they are not as light as the clay Chiminea. They get hot rapidly - so be aware because they get to a very high temperature . Like with all Chimineas, leaving them outside will expose them to the weather which is the main cause of rust . So these Chimineas may need the odd spot of paint here and there every every once in a while . The best way to take proper care of your metal Chiminea is to use a Chiminea cover, as it protects the Chiminea against weathering when left outside.

So if you are looking for a Chimenea to turn your garden into a cosy, warm outdoor area on chilly evenings, take a look at the chiminea sale now on.
